What a shame, but appears you're here mostly during good weather so make sure you catch a bit of all the fun Holland has to offer! |

I was wondering if you, ancillia, could tel me where i could find a leather (or leather-like) pant in Amsterdam, with a little bit goth / rock touch. All the leather shops i've found sells only the old-straight-and-ugly leather pants, so if you can help me to find the (unholy) graal, i would definitely be grateful to you
Dank je wel! |

Thanx for posting
Well, there are actually a lot of indonesian leather shops on the highstreets of Kalverstraat, the mostly have leather jackets, but they might also have pants.
A good place for men to find leather wear is actually in the gay shops. In the Warmoesstraat we have "RoB" and "Mister B" , both of which I even love for their good quality gear. I understand you might have to get over the gayness of it all at first, but I think that would be your best bet! If they don't have the perfect pair for you there, the salespeople will be very happy to point you in the right direction, they're experts in this field, ofcourse!
I also heard there is a great, but not so cheap shop called "Robin & Rik" in the runstraat where you can get some custom made to fit your wishes.
Luckily they're coming back in fashion so you might be able to find a lot of them in regular shops soon! I just bought a nice pair of fake leather pants in a vanilla ladiesshop today.
But... the best place for these things is probably still Camden in London! |

Thanks for the adress! i'm not scared to go in a gay shop, especially with my GF :p But some stuff on these website were humm...a bit "ewwww it must hurt!"
I'll check Mister B and Robin&Rik, however, it seems they don't have what i want...i'm looking for something with more "stuff" on it, like buckles....something more gothic, more rock |

How aweful That is indeed the way it is changing in Holland right now. When you hear the politicians talk about the plans it all sounds great, but most Dutch people are afraid they eventually want to shut down everything.
Already banks have started to refuse coffeeshop owners accounts while they arenīt even doing anything legal and I myself have also been refused at a big Dutch bank as soon as they found out there is nudity involved in my website. That while Europeans are highly critical of the American prudity towards sexuality, nudity and softdrugs (while being very liberal about guns and violence!) but in this short timespand of a few years I think Europe has now become more prudish then the U.S. Let me make it perfectly clear that although I consider myself to be very Dutch, I ride my bike through Amsterdam and I like my cheese, I do not and have never smoked and I donīt drink a whole lot either. I think these "sins" are more seductive when they are not readily available.
I am scared it wonīt be long before they close down fetishshops and bedroom bondage is made illegal. Already sexually tinted parties (such as mild fetishparties with gogo dancers) are having a very hard time to survive in Holland.
Come soon, to enjoy the liberal atmoshpere while it is still (partially) here, even if you donīt smoke or drink! |

Oh and I would like to add to that Teasers in Amsterdam (exactly the same thing as Hooters) was shut down because the girls were considered to be unappropriatly dressed.
They have re-opened but just the fact that the city-government was able to do that is insane to me. Itīs shorts, tanktops and beer!

I think the entire world is getting prepped for the apocalypse, ergo they're cutting back on sex and violence to appease god/allah/Oprah when he/he/it comes walking down the street. December 21st, 2012 - mark it down people!
But seriously, all restrictions on sexual expression, violence, alcoholic consumption, etc. are put in place by government bodies as Federal law and, to a lesser extent, corporate organizations. And both corporate organizations and governments around the world are corrupt as fuck and push laws above and beyond what they should ever be. Which, hilariously enough, has never consistently worked. Just look at the US Prohibition of the 1920s - didn't last very long. Making something illegal doesn't do a whole lot if it goes against the wishes of the peeps.
I was actually just reading an article yesterday on Feministing.com about a woman who was kicked off of a Southwest airlines flight for dressing inappropriately. But they had a picture of her in the clothes she was wearing and she didn't even look inappropriate at all!! |
